TEMPE– Arizona State immediately felt the impact of their new transfer additions at the receiver position in a 70-7 victory over the Morgan State Bears.

Early and often

Senior wide receivers Omarion Miller and Reed Harris stole the show, combining for 239 yards and three touchdowns.

The crazier part? They didn’t play a single snap in the second half.

Transferring from Colorado and Boston College, respectively, the duo aided junior quarterback Cutter Boley‘s debut; he himself had 325 yards and five touchdowns in the first half. Boley’s day ended with six touchdowns, just one shy of tying the school record.

A record he did break, however, was the one for most passing yards in their first ASU game, beating out a seven-year-old record owned by Joey Yellen against Southern California.

Doing the “extra things”

Despite the numbers Miller and Harris put up, ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham was most proud of how the wide receiver group as a whole performed in the blocking game.

On a touchdown from sophomore running back Grayson Rigdon, Miller was the one who stuffed the corner to allow Rigdon to get into space. Shortly after, Harris pancaked the safety, which set Rigdon free to score from 54 yards out.

“That’s the stuff I’m proud of,” Dillingham said. “Good players are supposed to make good plays…but it’s the extra things that seperate guys, and that’s what I was really pleased with.”

The early attack launched the Sun Devils out to a commanding 49-7 lead going into the half. Those 49 points were more in one half than the Sun Devils scored in any entire single game since defeating Arizona 49-7 to end the 2024 regular season.

Their 70 points to end the game was the most they have scored in a single game since they defeated Arizona, also 70-7, in 2020.

Both receivers were in the top four in the transfer rankings among wideouts.

Miller came into the season coming off an 808 yards, 8 touchdown season in his junior year at Big 12 rival Colorado. Harris had 673 yards and five touchdowns in 2025.

Miller and Harris will be tested further though, now looking forward to visiting the 102,000-seat Kyle Field and No. 8 Texas A&M on Saturday, Sept. 12.
