Arizona State basketball takes on San Diego tonight.

SAN DIEGO — Arizona State basketball (6-2) will travel to California to face San Diego (6-4) for the first time ever on the road. The Sun Devils have caught fire, winning four straight games. The trip to San Diego starts a stretch of 5 straight games on the road or a neutral court. The Sun Devils will not be back to Desert Financial Arena until 2024.

The Toreros have lost two straight games but are 5-0 at home this season. The Sun Devils have faced San Diego twice in the past. Both games were played in Tempe and were blowouts in ASU’s favor.

With that being said, here are our Sun Devil Daily staff predictions for ASU’s game against San Diego.

Arizona State basketball predictions against San Diego

ASU: 78 San Diego: 68

The Sun Devils face their first true road game of the year as they look for their 5th straight win. Wednesday’s comeback victory will further energize the team. On the back of pesky defense from Frankie Collins, Arizona State will turn in another good performance. – Anthony D’Amato (5-1)

ASU: 85 San Diego: 64

After rallying from a 13-point deficit in the second half to defeat SMU, Arizona State heads out west to face off against San Diego (6-4). Jose Perez and Frankie Collins look to lead the charge for a team that is ascending at the right time before a resume-building matchup against old foe TCU. – Landin Jeffrey (4-0)

ASU: 81 San Diego: 67

The ASU offense has been hot recently and will travel with that offense to San Diego. This should be a game where ASU should be able to impose themselves on both offense and defense. This is the first road game for ASU, so if ASU wants to make a run they will need to show they can win on the road and they will start with that tonight. – Cooper Burns (6-0)

ASU: 81 San Diego: 68

ASU has built momentum coming off four wins in a row and SD coming off two losses in a row. Even though the Sun Devils are away, they can still get the job done. ASU’s offense has been on fire averaging 68.4 points per game, while SD’s defense has been struggling the past several games. – Truitt Robinson (0-0)

ASU: 84 San Diego: 61

ASU is on a roll right now. San Diego has allowed more than 85 points in its last two games, and I think that will continue tonight. I think the Sun Devils defense holds strong and keeps the Toreros to the same point total that both Sam Houston State and San Francisco scored 61. I think head coach Bobby Hurley has his team ready for the first true road game of the season and ASU gets the job done. – Douglas Santo (6-0)
