Following weeks of circulation about former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and his toughness, the buzz is over, with Tyson being selected eighth overall by the New Orleans Saints, joining Chris Olave for what will be a potent 1-2 punch for the Saints offense.

“So thankful, so blessed,” Tyson told ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge shortly after being drafted. “Lord’s doing work on me, he’s not done. We just going to keep this thing rolling, give it my all, and that’s all I can do.”

Tyler Shough, a one-time Texas Tech Red Raider, started the final 10 games for the Saints in 2025, throwing 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Tyson transferred to ASU from the University of Colorado following an ACL tear suffered in a blowout loss to Oregon.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, he exploded onto the scene with 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year, 2024 All-Big 12 First Team, and was a third-team All-America selection by the Associated Press.

He entered his redshirt junior season on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, but was cut short by a lingering hamstring injury that started in the Sun Devils’ 26-22 win in week seven against No. 7 Texas Tech.

“The lord said, ‘It’s going to be hard, and you have to persevere. Life is not easy. Keep going, boy, you got it. You strong, I promise you, you so strong, just keep going, you got it.’ Tyson said through tears.

Despite missing two weeks and playing parts of two more games injured, he still recorded 711 yards and eight touchdowns.
