TEMPE, Ariz. — Just one day after the transfer portal opened, the Arizona State Sun Devils may already have their new leader on offense, landing a commitment from former Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley.

Who is Cutter Boley?

The 6’5, 220-pound signal caller was ranked as the No. 15 quarterback in the portal by 247Sports. He was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and was on the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2025.
Boley will be a redshirt sophomore next season. He started in 10 games for the Wildcats last season, accumulating over 2,100 yards passing and 17 total touchdowns.
He plays a shifty, game-manager style of quarterback, ranking fifth in completion percentage among SEC quarterbacks with over 300 snaps.
While Boley had 12 interceptions, he showed a lot of promise for a freshman starting through a difficult SEC schedule.
His biggest highlight of the season came in an October matchup against Tennessee, where, despite a 56-34 loss, Boley threw for 330 yards and five touchdowns.
Dillingham has some familiarity with Boley, having extended Boley an offer when he was the offensive coordinator at Oregon.

Possible “quarterback trade” in the works

Boley committed during his visit to ASU on Friday. While the former Wildcat was on his visit to ASU, former Sun Devil quarterback Sam Leavitt was on a visit in Lexington.
The potential “quarterback-swap” would mirror last season’s transfer portal, where Tennessee and UCLA swapped quarterbacks Nico Iamaleava and Joey Aguilar.
In addition to Kentucky, it has also been reported that Leavitt has a visit planned with Texas Tech.
