TEMPE, Ariz. — Bobby Hurley has been on an absolute tear the past few weeks when it comes to the recruiting trail, and today was no different for Arizona State basketball. Hurley got even more good news when four-star forward Sammie Yeanay committed to the program.

Hurley and Arizona State basketball add another commitment

Yeaney, out of Chandler Arizona, is the 94th-best player in the country, 20th best power forward, and the sixth-best player in the state of Arizona according to Rivals.

Yeanay is the third player to commit to play for Hurley in just the last week.

Also, within the last week, Hurley has gotten commitments from three-star center Jaden Smith and four-star forward Amier Ali.

As of now, Hurley has the 37th-rated recruiting class in the nation for 2024 not even including their latest pickup. We’ll update you when that number changes.

As for Yeaney, he started his high school journey at The Rock School in Gainesville, Fla., also home to the University of Florida. The new UF coach staff, headed by Todd Golden, made an aggressive push for Yeaney when he initially took over the program.

Yeaney did visit Florida back in June of 2022, but they did not offer him until September of 2022.

As for the Devils, they offered Yeaney on July 1, and he visited just recently on Oct. 6.

Whilst visiting ASU and throughout the recruiting cycle, Arizona State assistant Jermaine Kimbrough was the main recruiter of Yeaney. Once again, the Devil’s assistants are getting things done on the recruiting trail.

With Yeaney committing, that puts ASU in the 13th position in the recruiting rankings for the class of 2024.

The future looks bright for Arizona State basketball.
