Former Sun Devil standout N’Keal Harry was called up to the Minnesota Vikings’ official 53-man roster this morning. Harry was called up along with fellow wide receiver Trishton Jackson. The two were called up as superstar Justin Jefferson was officially placed on the injury reserve with a hamstring injury.

N’Keal Harry was given an opportunity with the Vikings

Harry spent three seasons with Arizona State before being drafted in the first round in 2019 by the New England Patriots. The former four-star recruit from Chandler had a lot of success with the Sun Devils.

In both his sophomore and junior seasons he racked up over 1,000 receiving yards. Overall in his ASU career, he tallied over 200 catches, 2,889 yards, and 22 receiving touchdowns. He also added on three rushing touchdowns just for good measure.

Harry finished top five in the Pac-12 in both receptions and receiving yards in 2017 and 2018. He’s top 25 in the conference’s illustrious history in both career receptions and career receiving yards despite only playing three seasons, one of them being a true freshman.

However, the former Sun Devil just hasn’t been able to find his footing in the NFL.

Harry has bounced around and played for three different teams in his five-year NFL career. In that time he’s caught 64 passes for 714 yards and three touchdowns.

Not terrible by any means, but not first-round production either. Despite his rough start, this stint with the Vikings should offer some opportunity for Harry. Kirk Cousins will be the best passing quarterback that Harry’s had since his rookie year when he had Tom Brady (Mac Jones and Justin Fields being his other quarterbacks).

Will Harry be able to make the most of the opportunity and be able to stick around in the Twin Cities?
