TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State basketball (12-12, 6-7) returns home for a single game against Oregon State (11-13, 3-10) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Desert Financial Arena. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks, and you can listen to the game on ESPN 360 AM or Sirius XM 373 radio.
ASU is coming off a huge road win in Utah, 85-77, that ended its season-long five-game losing streak. The Sun Devils likely need to win the Pac-12 tournament at the end of the season for any hopes of playing in March, but the win against Utah and ASU’s upcoming schedule gives them plenty of opportunities to make some noise.
The Beavers have lost four straight games coming into Wednesday, with their last win coming against the Sun Devils at the end of January. Oregon State is just 3-10 in conference play after starting 8-3 in non-conference play.
ASU owns the all-time series between the two teams winning 26 of the 37 matchups. However, the Beavers got the best of the Sun Devils the last time out, which ended a five-game win streak in the series for ASU. The Sun Devils have still won nine of the last 11 matchups and 13 of the last 17.
Without further ado, here are our Sun Devil Daily staff predictions for Arizona State basketball against Oregon State.
Arizona State basketball predictions against Oregon State
ASU: 82 Oregon State: 67
The Sun Devils finally got the monkey off their back and won a game. Winning in Utah is never an easy feat and ASU will be looking to put together a winning streak as they take on an Oregon State team that has struggled outside of Corvallis this season. – Anthony D’Amato (8-12)
ASU: 80 Oregon State: 75
On paper, ASU and OSU are pretty similar. They have similar records, stats, etc. but since ASU has the home-court advantage, I would expect a close game. ASU made it over the hump against Utah and now it wants to start a winning streak. – Truitt Robinson (7-7)
ASU: 65 Oregon State: 72
I have found that when I pick against ASU they appear to do fairly well so that is what we are doing here. ASU struggled mightily against OSU in the last game and may still be riding high off of their last win against Utah. ASU has not had a home game in a while so the student section will be loud and ready to go which the team will need to feed off of. This could be a trap game considering UA is coming up. – Cooper Burns (10-8)
ASU: 68 Oregon State: 63
ASU is coming off a big win on the road and it gets to return home for one game before it heads to Arizona. This could easily be a trap game for the Sun Devils, but I think they are far from focusing on further games. I think Bobby Hurley will have his group focused and I think they’ll take care of business on their home court. – Douglas Santo (10-10)
