TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State basketball (10-6, 4-1) returns home to face UCLA (7-10, 2-4) Wednesday night. This is the first of a two-game home stand against the California teams. ASU is coming off its first conference loss of the season, to Washington. Meanwhile, UCLA is coming off just its second conference win of the season, also against Washington.

The Sun Devils had caught fire over their first four games to start Pac-12 play, before falling to Washington. The Bruins have struggled lately after a rather strong start to their season. UCLA started the season 6-2 with losses to ranked Marquette and Gonzaga teams. However, the Bruins have now lost eight of their last 10 games, struggling to reach 60 points in five of those games.

ASU has struggled historically against the Bruins, losing 32 of the 46 meetings all-time. The Bruins have won six of the last seven matchups, however, the one win for the Sun Devils came in Tempe. ASU is 7-0 at home this season, meanwhile, the Bruins are just 1-3 on the road this season.

Both teams will look to build momentum with a win tonight.

Here are our Sun Devil Daily staff predictions.

Arizona State basketball predictions against UCLA

ASU: 81 UCLA: 70

ASU may have taken a loss to the Huskies, but they have proven that they can compete with the Pac-12. UCLA has been struggling the past several games and ASU can take full advantage of it, especially with the Sun Devils having a home-court advantage. – Truitt Robinson (4-3)

ASU: 80 UCLA: 67

UCLA is on the struggle bus this season to say the least. Just last week UCLA lost to Utah on the road by about 50 points, a team that ASU took care of at home. ASU was coming back into the game against Washington but let it slip away late. They are going to want to avenge that game with a win at home before a big game against USC. – Cooper Burns (9-4)

ASU: 79 UCLA: 70

ASU looks to rebound from a loss to Washington and I think they will put together a complete game and control the game from start to finish. I expect DFA to be loud and provide an early spark for Frankie Collins and company. – Anthony D’Amato (6-7)

ASU: 68 UCLA: 60

This is a year to forget for Mick Cronin and UCLA. ASU was coming back at Washington in the second half, but the Huskies got hot beyond the arc and it was a done deal from then on. They keep their undefeated streak alive at DFA. – Landin Jeffrey

ASU: 73 UCLA: 56

UCLA is coming off a good win against Washington, but that’s about the only good thing that has happened for them lately. They’ve struggled on offense, and I think that plays right into the Sun Devil’s hands. I think Jamiya Neal, Frankie Collins, and Alonzo Gaffney all have strong defensive nights and the Sun Devils don’t have too much trouble scoring offensively. I think ASU cruises to victory. – Douglas Santo (8-5)
