TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State football is continuing its offensive line roster construction this offseason, and their latest pickup is a new addition for the future. The Sun Devils added their second interior-offensive line prospect to the 2025 recruiting class, and just their fourth overall pledge for the class.

That may seem like a low number, but it’s very early in the recruiting cycle for the 2025 class. As of now, Arizona State football ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 in 2025 recruiting classes, just behind Baylor.

ASU is showing that fixing and building the offensive line is a priority for this offseason and the program’s future.

Arizona State football adds 2025 prospect

On Christmas, Kenny Dillingham and Arizona State football gave Sun Devil Nation a present of their own. Matai Jefferson, a 2025 interior offensive line prospect, announced his pledge to the Sun Devils.

Jefferson is a three-star and 247 Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 689 overall prospect and No. 54 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class.

The California native attends St. John Bosco High School in Southern California. Bosco is one of the best high school football programs in the nation. Current Sun Devil Sean Na’a is a graduate of St. John Bosco, and this played a role in Jefferson’s commitment to ASU.

“Sean Na’a is my boy,” Jefferson told 247 Sports. “I’ve been talking to him a lot. Ever since he got there. What made me want to commit even more was he even played as a freshman. He played nine games. Coach T (Tuitele) even said, you come in, show what you show, and if you put the work in you’re going to be playing as a freshman.”

Dillingham and his coaching staff getting involved and building connections with a powerhouse program in Southern California will play major dividends in the future.
