Arizona State football adds former four-star safety in transfer portal
Wilson, who went to IMG Academy, was ranked as the third-best safety, and the No. 10 best player in the state of Florida by Rivals. According to Rivals Wilson was the No. 60 best player in the class of 2022.
As for the transfer portal, Wilson is ranked as a four-star and the No. 27 player in the portal according to Rivals.
Wilson did play as a freshman at Florida, sparingly, but did compile 39 tackles and one forced fumble.
As for last season, Wilson was expected to see major playing time at Florida before some off-the-field incidents occurred. Wilson played the first few games for the Gators but was absent from the sidelines around the beginning of conference play last season.
Florida head coach Billy Napier, noted that Wilson was no longer with the team and would be absent for the rest of the season. After being removed from the team, Wilson entered his name into the portal to get a fresh start.
Despite some of the off-field issues, Wilson has noted that he is ready for a fresh start and is ready to put his issues behind him.
Wilson is an incredible talent on the field and a much-needed pickup for ASU due to some of the losses in the back end after this season.
Wilson is getting a fresh start in the desert, and it’s one that could be a major boost for Arizona State football.
