TEMPE, Ariz. — There was a lot of bad news Saturday for Arizona State football as the Sun Devils fell to Oklahoma State, 27-15. Just a few plays into the matchup, starting right tackle Emmit Bohle went down with an injury. Bohle’s teammates huddled around him as the Mountain America Stadium in-game host tried to get the crowd going with a dance cam.

Injuries are always bad to see, it’s even worse when you see a cart come driving onto the field. Bohle needed to be put in an air cast and carted off Frank Kush field. An already depleted offensive line just got thinner. Bad news for the Sun Devils.

Arizona State starter ruled out for season

In head coach Kenny Dillingham’s weekly press conference on Monday, he addressed Bohle’s injury.

“Emmit’s gonna be out for the season,” Dillingham said. “Unfortunate for him. What a great person, what a great worker. What he did with his body this offseason and getting him into shape was incredible… You guys are there at practice (addressing the media) the strides he made were awesome.”

Bohle’s injury kicks the offensive line while it’s down. Both Isaia Glass and Cade Briggs are still questionable with injuries going forward. For those keeping track at home, that’s three important pieces in the trenches on offense for the Sun Devils, all dealing with injuries.

“Obviously the position has been decimated with injuries,” Dillingham said. It’s true, but injuries are a part of the sport. Now it’s up to the coaching staff to see how they work around the injuries. In the press conference, Dillingham said that he’d have to run some types of offense that he never has before.

Only time will tell how the Sun Devils bounce back.
