These Arizona State representatives are heading to Pac-12 Media Day
Media Day is always an exciting time for college football fans, and this year is no different. Arizona State fans are cautiously optimistic heading into the fall, with almost an entirely new program.
New head coach Kenny Dillingham has made many changes to both the staff and the roster. What fans can find out about the program on Pac-12 Media Day will be exciting.
Another big thing to consider about the upcoming media day is the Pac-12’s T.V deal or lack thereof. The conference is still negotiating for future television rights with various potential suitors. Pac-12 Media Day could bring more news about the negotiations, or things could stay quiet.
That’s the fun of it, right?
As far as Arizona State is concerned, fans will see the familiar faces of both Jalin Conyers and Jordan Clark. Both were on the team last season and had big impacts.
Conyers had a breakout year, specifically in the second half of the season. Last season the tight end hauled in 38 receptions for over 400 yards and five touchdowns. He’s expected to put up bigger numbers this year, with a larger role in Dillingham’s new offense.
Clark made an impact on the other end of the football. The redshirt senior snagged two interceptions last season, one going for a touchdown. The interception numbers don’t tell the whole story about the defensive back’s impact. Clark averaged just a 41.9 opposing QB rating when targeted in man coverage last season. That was good enough for the 13th-best in FBS (minimum 100 snaps).
Conyers, Clark, and Dillingham will be representing both the program and the university on Friday, and it looks to be a good choice.
