TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State fought a hard-fought battle against Colorado on Saturday. Despite the loss, ASU wide receiver Elijhah Badger puts on a show and sets his personal season records.
Elijhah Badger shines against Colorado
Elijhah Badger, the six-foot-two-inch 190-pound WR out of Sacramento, Calif. put on a show against Colorado. Badger recorded 12 receptions and 134 yards in Saturday’s game. He averaged 11.2 yards per catch, with his longest run after catch being 30 yards. All stats are currently his best of the 2023 season in a single game, according to ESPN.
Badger had a bit of a shaky start to open up the 2023 season. Before head coach Kenny Dillingham started taking over play calling, Badger was only getting 3 catches per game and didn’t have a game over 80 yards.
However, once Dillingham started taking over playcalling, he quickly bounced back and picked up the pace with the Sun Devils as the season went on.
Badger is showing to be one of the best offensive weapons in college football
On top of that, Badger is now fourth in the nation in all-purpose yards per game with 152. He is ranked number one in the nation in kick return yardage with 470 yards this season. Badger is currently tied for 40th in the nation in receptions with an average of 5 receptions per game.
In the game on Saturday, Badger set his career high in catches and was only a few yards away from his career high in yards. The receiver has now amassed over 100 career receptions.
Throughout the 2023 season, Badger has 33 receptions for 422 yards, and two touchdowns, and is averaging 12.8 yards per catch per game. His longest reception this season has gone for 65 yards, all according to ESPN.
