TEMPE, Ariz. — USC is arguably the best team that Arizona State football is going to see all year, and the Sun Devil Daily staff is here for our predictions of tonight’s game. The Trojans are currently favored by 34.5. They’re led by Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams. There should be fireworks in front of the sold-out crowd at Mountain America Stadium.
Without wasting any more time, let’s get into our predictions.
Arizona State vs USC predictions
Arizona State: 14 USC: 56
ASU loses but keeps it close early. ASU has a solid defense but will get gassed as the game goes on. The offense cannot be worse than it was last week but won’t be enough to help out the defense – Cooper Burns (3-0)
Arizona State: 17 USC: 55
ASU keeps it close in the first quarter but not long after that. Caleb Williams is too much for the ASU defense. He throws for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. ASU’s offense finds the end zone a couple of times to give the home fans something to cheer about, but can’t keep up with USC as the game goes on. – Douglas Santo (1-2)
Arizona State: 21 USC: 45
Arizona State’s defense performs as well as expected against USC’s electric offense. Most importantly, the Sun Devil offense finally shows signs of life, with head coach Kenny Dillingham calling the plays. Quarterback Drew Pyne doesn’t replicate his performance against the Trojans from last season, but looks better than he did last weekend. While improvement is shown, USC is a top-five team in college football for a reason. – Brendon Pricco (2-1)
