TEMPE, Ariz. — Amier Ali, a four-star small forward out of Canyon International Academy, has made his commitment to Bobby Hurley and the Sun Devils.
Arizona State basketball lands Amier Ali
Ali, a six-foot-eight-inch 175-pound small forward from Columbus, Ohio had many offers on the table before committing to the Sun Devils. Before committing, Ali had several great options to choose from. The list included teams such as Kentucky, Alabama, Kansas, Ohio State, Florida State, and Arkansas.
Ali won’t have to travel far for his future school as he plays for Canyon International Academy in Tucson.
Ultimately it was the Sun Devils who landed him. Ali says that a big reason why he chose ASU over other big basketball schools was because of the coaching staff.
Ali stated that the coaching staff, Coach Bobby Hurley especially, was a big reason why he chose the Sun Devils.
Not only that, Ali’s cousin, Yusuf Ali, is an assistant coach for the Sun Devils. Ali expressed that he really liked the team’s facilities and family-like environment.
Amier Ali as a prospect
Ali stated that he believes Hurley and the Sun Devils can help him reach his goal of making it to the NBA.
According to Maxpreps.com, Ali has a player rating of 92 and is ranked No. 3 in the top players of Arizona.
“Amier Ali is a big wing with terrific positional size, smooth mobility, and a natural shooting stroke. The intersection of those three things makes him one of the most naturally talented wings in the class,” Adam Finklestein of 247 Sports stated.
The Sun Devils have now landed two great players from the 2024 class including center Jaden Smith and now Amier Ali. ASU’s 2024 recruiting class currently clocks in at No. 36 in the nation.
