TEMPE, Ariz. — It is that time of year, Flip Season as many people call it. Signing day is less than ten days away and Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham and his staff have gotten their first flip of the season.
This flip is from a future Big 12 conference opponent and a team that the Sun Devils have faced off against in the last two seasons. It’s also at a very key position.
Arizona State football flips Oklahoma State commit
Three-star lineman Semisi Tonga out of Salt Lake City, Utah has flipped to the Sun Devils. Tonga is listed as the No. 11 player in the state of Utah and the No. 70 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2024 according to Rivals.
Originally, Tonga was committed to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He had been committed to Oklahoma State since October 15th of this year.
Tonga is listed at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds. There’s a good possibility that he will see the field relatively quickly given ASU’s offensive line situation. He joins 2024 three-star Champs Westbrook as ASU interior offensive line commits in the class.
One of the main reasons that Dillingham was able to secure the flip was the in-home visit that Dillingham and offensive line coach Tuitele did just tonight, Dec 12.
Dillingham and his staff have been traveling all around the western United States, including Hawaii, to try and get players to flip before signing day.
This very likely won’t be the last flip of Flip Season for Arizona State.
