ASU football pursuing newly available running back prospect
Currently, Lacy has offers from 37 schools including the likes of Arizona State, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Oregon among other huge programs. You can see the full list here.
Those offers do not come without hard work and good play and that is exactly what Lacy has done.
The Lancaster, Texas native has played well for not just one but two schools. His first two years of high school he spent at Fort Worth Nolan Catholic where he absolutely tore up the competition.
While not getting much action his freshman season he backed it up his sophomore year by rushing for 1352 yards and 13 touchdowns his sophomore season.
Those numbers in his sophomore year earned with first-team all-state honors along with offensive newcomer of the year in Texas 6A-D1.
After bursting onto the scene at Fort Worth Nolanm he transferred after one season and went to Lancaster High School which is a private institution in Texas class 5A. Last season Lacy complied 730 yards along with 11 touchdowns and compiled 226 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
With those numbers his junior year, that got him first-team all-district last season.
All of that gave him the laundry list of schools that are going after him.
Arizona State’s involvement
As for ASU, they extended a scholarship offer to him back on May 7, after he visited on April 28.
Running backs coach Shaun Aguano is currently the primary recruiter for Lacy.
Can the Texas 2 Tempe pipeline continue? We will see coming up in a few months when Lacy begins to narrow his list down.
