TEMPE, Ariz. — ASU football has a lot of work to do in the transfer portal. The Sun Devils have already lost multiple players to the portal, including Jordan Clark, Jalin Conyers, and BJ Green. All three were key contributors last season.

But the portal gives and takes.

Over 1,000 players have entered the transfer portal so far, a staggering number. Here are three that ASU football is actively pursuing and have offered scholarships too.

Three early transfer portal targets for ASU football

Cade Bennett

Cade Bennett is a graduate transfer interior lineman from San Diego State. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound lineman has earned All-Mountain West honors in the last two seasons. He also is an Arizona native. Bennett played his high school ball for Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale. This would be an immediate impact player for the Sun Devils and help in bolstering the offensive line. Kenny Dillingham multiple times reiterated the priority of acquiring offensive linemen in the portal, so we believe Bennett is high on ASU’s list.

The Sun Devils offered Bennett on Nov. 29 per his X (formerly known as Twitter).

Aiden Fisher

Aiden Fisher would fill another positional need, this one at linebacker. The sophomore led James Madison in tackles this season, helping the Dukes go 11-1. Fisher tallied 91 tackles, 36 more than any other player. Fisher also had 6.0 tackles for a loss, including 1.5 sacks, with one interception, seven pass deflections, five quarterback hurries, and one blocked field goal. Arizona State needs to add linebacker depth, and Fisher would be a great solution to that.

ASU football offered Fisher a scholarship on Dec. 3 per Fisher’s X.

Jordan Herman

Jordan Herman is another offensive lineman. Once again, Dillingham made this clear. The offensive line is the top priority this offseason. Most fans should be pleased to hear that. Herman is an offensive tackle from Florida, and he has SEC size. The 6-foot-8, 375-pound tackle is just a redshirt sophomore, so he has two more seasons of eligibility. ASU football could also have a connection in this recruitment thanks to graduate assistant Steven Miller. Miller is currently an ASU offensive line grad assistant and previously was at Florida in the same role. His relationship with Herman could help bring him to Tempe.

ASU football offered Herman a scholarship on Dec. 4.
