Arizona State’s Jalin Conyers is expected to be one of the top returners in the conference. The tight end was a beast last season. A recently posted video suggests he’ll be even more dominant this upcoming season for the Sun Devils.

Jalin Conyers posts an impressive weight room video

Earlier this afternoon the ASU tight-end posted a video on Twitter. In the video, Conyers is absolutely crushing in the weight room. He back-squats seven reps of 460 (!!!) lbs.

Conyers does not look like a very easy guy to tackle. In fact last season he led all tight ends in missed tackles forced. The big man broke 21 tackles last season.

Now after this weight room video, Conyers might smash that number.

The returning junior had a breakout season last year. Conyers played tight end for the Sun Devils and was arguably the top receiving threat on the roster. He hauled in 38 receptions for 422 yards. The Texas native scored five touchdowns.

Those numbers may not be eye-popping without some context. Through the first five games of last season, Conyers had a measly eight catches for 76 yards. Then everything changed.

On October 25th, 2022, interim head coach Shaun Aguano announced he would be calling plays for the remainder of the year. In the very next game against Colorado, Conyers had his breakout performance.

The tight end snagged six receptions, just two shy of his season total. Three of those catches, Conyers took into the endzone. His final stat line on the day was six receptions for 108 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 18 yards per catch. From there, Conyers never looked back.

With the way he ended last season, Sun Devil fans have a lot of things to be excited about for Conyers next season.
