Several ASU football targets see a jump in rankings

On3 Sports has put out its new rankings under its new recruiting director Steve Wilfong. The list features the top 300 players nationally, each player’s ranking in the state, and their ranking at their position.

Several players on ASU’s radar took significant jumps this cycle, let’s take a look at who those are.

Names to watch in ASU football recruiting

  • AJ Ia

Ia is a tight end out of Orange Lutheran, California. In the previous top 300 rankings, Ia was ranked No. 422 but has now jumped up to No. 119. On3 has him as the fourth-best tight end in the class and the seventh-best player in the state. He is scheduled to visit ASU the weekend of April 26th.

  • Vander Ploog

Ploog is also a tight end and resides in Fullerton, California. In the previous top 300, he was ranked No. 209 but has now jumped up to No. 141. On3 has him as the seventh-best tight end in the class and the No. 11 best player in the state. He is scheduled to visit the weekend of May 31st.

  • Karson Cox

Cox is a running back from Hesperia, California. In the previous top 300 rankings, he was ranked No. 303 and has now jumped up to No. 150. On3 has him as the ninth-best running back in the class and the No. 14 player in the state. He is scheduled to visit ASU this weekend, the weekend of April 19th.

  • Jamar Beal-Gaines

Gaines is a local cornerback attending Desert Edge High School. In the previous top 300 rankings, he was No. 625 but jumped up to No. 228. On3 has him as the No. 22 corner in the class and the best player in the state.

  • Rylon Dillard-Allen

Allen is a safety from Phoenix, Arizona, and Mountain Pointe High School. In the previous top 300 rankings, he was ranked No. 536 and has now jumped up to No. 266. On3 has him as the No. 23 player at his position and the second-best player in the state. He is currently set to visit ASU this weekend, the weekend of April 19th.

Dillingham and his staff have a big opportunity to capitalize on some of these players who are visiting soon.
