TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State has received a crystal ball for three-star athlete Sire Gaines. Gaines will commit on July 29th.

Arizona State is predicted to pick up a three-star athlete

Sire Gaines is a six-foot athlete from Perris, Calif. Gaines plays his high school football at Orange Vista high school.

247 Sports ranks Gaines as the 876th-best prospect in the nation and as the 65th-best in California. Gaines played a variety of positions for Orange Vista, hence being listed as an “athlete”. He played outside linebacker, strong safety, and running back.

Gaines was dominant on both sides of the football this past season.

As a running back, the athlete racked up 854 yards and 16 touchdowns this past season. Gaines averaged a strong 9.6 yards per carry.

On the defensive side of the football, the California native was just as impressive. In the 2022-2023 season, Gaines made 27 total tackles, including five tackles for loss. He also brought in three sacks and added on an interception. Playing both sides of the ball at such a high level can be a rarity now in high school football, especially with future Division 1 prospects.

Sire Gaines’ Recruitment

Thanks to his outstanding play on the football field, Gaines received 10 scholarship offers. In May, Gaines announced his top six schools along with a commitment date: July 29th.

Gaines’ top six schools are Washington State, Arizona State, Washington, Arizona, Boise State, and San Diego State.

The athlete took four official visits in June. He spent time at SDSU, WSU, ASU, and Boise State.

On June 29th, 247 Sport’s analyst Jason Scheer put in a crystal ball of 6 – Medium Confidence for Gaines to the Sun Devils. Scheer is a reporter for the University of Arizona, ASU’s arch-rival.

A lot can change in a month, but Arizona State fans hope that his crystal ball rings true.
