Arizona State hockey beats Northern Michigan

Arizona State won 5-1. The first period started off slow, as neither team was able to put any pucks in the back of the net. However, the second period was very different.

There was a total of four goals scored between the two teams in the second period.

Charlie Schoen had the first goal of the night, giving the Sun Devils a 1-0 lead. He was assisted by Alex Young and Anthony Dowd.

Northern Michigan quickly responded with a goal of its own, as Tanner Latsch tied things up and scored on a power play for the Wildcats. Unfortunately for Northern Michigan, that would be their last goal of the night.

Arizona State scored two more goals in the second period. Matthew Kopperud scored one, assisted by Brian Chambers and Lukas Sillinger. He was followed by Alex Young, who already had an assist. Young was assisted by Tyler Gratton and Josh Neidermayer.

The second period ended with Arizona State leading 3-1.

The Sun Devils had no interest in slowing down either. They would score two more goals in the third period. Dylan Jackson found the back of the net on a power play. Schoen and Dowd were credited with assists. Finally, the last goal for ASU would come thanks to Benji Eckerle. He was assisted by Kyle Smolen and Ryan O’Reilly.
